The
Spot U campaign goes national
We're expanding our Spot U program
by going national. First we created the Spot U public
service announcement that ran on cable. Then we created
the webcast show that went international. And recently the Spot
U commercial won the Telly Award People's Choice Award.
Now,
just in time for the Back to School season, the Long Beach AIDS
Foundation is launching the "It's Only Their Future" campaign to
help parents begin the conversation with their children on HIV
awareness.
The Spot U program just keeps getting better.
The
facts are that technology is moving at the speed of light and many
non-profits are having a difficult time catching up to today's
youth-embraced technologies to communicate, interact and create
activism. It requires "outside-the-box" thinking to fully
engage youth and adolescents. Outreach has to be more than the
"build it and they will come" approach.
The
Foundation, with the help of the former Cable Positve organization
to be one of the first organizations in the nation to use
all social networks, blogs, webcast, video networks and
multi-method delivery systems. Participants come from all over the world.
That's not bad for
a small non-profit trying to make an impact on HIV among youth and
adolescents. But we need parents to also help in having frank, open
discussions with their kids. So here we go again! Read how the
Foundation is making this program a success!
